FAQs
Why does my organisation need littleFOOTTM?
- littleFOOTTM has been specifically designed to reduce power consumption and carbon emissions attributed to PC’s.
- littleFOOTTM is the most powerful and accurate power management software on the market. In addition to reducing consumption, we can record power usage to within 3% based on specific PCs and real user activity, whereas our competitors base their figures on estimates and average values.
- Alongside saving energy costs and reducing carbon, the software also aids employee behavioural change. The use of the littleFOOTTM ‘widget’ consciously by employees can boost savings by up to 15%.
What will be the typical energy savings?
- A PC with littleFOOTTM installed can reduce its energy consumption by between 25-75%.
What will be the typical cost savings?
- littleFOOTTM provides a typical organisation a financial saving of £25.00 (depending on the energy tariff) and a carbon reduction of 0.25 tonnes of CO2 per annum per PC.
What reports does littleFOOTTM generate?
- littleFOOTTM’s reporting can be customised, the data captures the kWh’s used, the savings achieved, fiscal cost of kWh’s and actual carbon emissions generated. This supports CRC (Carbon Reduction Commitment) legislation and carbon auditing
What machines will it work on?
- littleFOOTTM currently runs on Microsoft Windows XP
- littleFOOTTM is low impact software - hosted, non-disruptive and fully supported (uses less than 1% of machine CPU). Our Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) approach means simplicity for customers.
Is littleFOOTTM secure?
- All communications between client and littleFOOTTM servers use SSL 3.0 encryption through port 443 (similar security level to e-banking). The littleFOOTTM server does not request any information from the client PC; all communications are instigated from the client PC to the littleFOOTTM server, which replies to client requests.
- Access to littleFOOTTM‘s secure portal will allow an approved IT team to control power settings on a network of PC’s from one central location.
What are the technical requirements?
- Microsoft Windows XP (Service Pack 2)
- .Net 2 of above Framework must be installed.
*Please Note: PC’s require an Internet connection.
