Cambridge MAN
The Cambridge Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) is a dedicated communications platform built for the Cambridge business community and places the City at the forefront of digital technology. Since installation of the network in 2000, Redstone has laid over forty-eight kilometers of fibre across the City of Cambridge providing the high bandwidth and quality of connectivity that businesses in the region demand.
The Network comprises a series of fibre rings which run around the city, all routing back to our Point of Presence on the Cambridge Business Park. Crossing the City form the Cambridge Business Park and the Science Park, running under the River Cam to Regent Street, Quayside and Castle Park, extending as far as Long Road on the south of the city the Cambridge MAN provides a state of the art communications backbone. We have also unbundled the 3 main BT exchanges within the City, enabling us to connect customers by copper, as well as fibre, to further extend the reach of the MAN.
Companies connected to the MAN are able to use it to access the Internet at high speed, as well as connecting between multiple sites. However, the true value of the MAN can be seen in the value-added services that are offered across it.
We are currently working with a number of partners, each specialist in their own field, to offer a comprehensive package of services to our customers. The services are hosted from our facility in Cambridge and allow users to access state-of-the-art technology, without the need to invest individually in the necessary equipment. Additionally, companies connected to the MAN can make use of our purpose built Hosting Suite which provides co-location space for our clients.
